![]() Again, there are workarounds to some degree, but it’s something to keep in mind. While the X-T3 has a framerate and processor that is certain to turn some heads, a lack of body image stabilization can be a little bit of a turnoff. It’s not as if carrying extra batteries for your camera is a really uncommon thing, but having to switch quicker than you would with other cameras might discourage some videographers. ![]() My hands are of fairly average size and I don’t have a huge problem with it, but for videographers with bigger hands or maybe limited movement in their hands, I can see where some people might take issue.Īs is common with the mirrorless variety of cameras, the X-T3 can eat up battery life really fast. That being said, I can’t sit here at my desk and say it’s going to be seen as flawless to just about everyone.įor one thing, the grip isn’t for everyone. It’s a solid camera for its price, size, the latest technology and as a handy travel companion for virtually any location. It’s the little things in life that make the X-T3 all that much better as a travel camera? Any Downsides?ĭepends on what you’re using it for, honestly. It has a solid body without being too weighty about it and those buttons are built for a satisfying click. It has the feel of one of those old-school analog cameras that would last for ages and ages. It’s light, durable, weatherproof and just an overall solidly built camera. Well, as we’d already talked about, the fact that it’s a smaller mirrorless model makes it a lot easier to transport wherever you go. When it comes to shooting video, the X-T3 easily outclasses a lot of the leaders in mirrorless camera models. It goes beyond its HD predecessors and straight into 4K – and at a smooth, beautiful 60 frames per second, no less. The X-T3 turns out to be a cutting-edge video camera. The camera’s sensor has been beefed up since its previous X-T2 incarnation, as has its processor. Again, this is what really got my attention! Fujifilm has always been a solid photography brand, and I was thrilled to see it making a splash in the videography world with its X-T3. To answer the question, yes, the X-T3’s incredible agility as a photography camera does translate well into shooting video. You can go from 11 frames per second in standard burst mode (while not losing focus, I might add) to a break-neck speed of 30 frames per second with the electronic shutter. Fuji XT3’s shutter speed is impressive when shooting photos. Yeah! I know Fujifilm historically has been somewhat overlooked as far as shooting video is concerned, but with the release of the X-T3, that all might change soon. A quicker camera speed makes for an easier, smoother session filming wildlife, sports, anything with a lot of movement, no matter the lighting! Even with Video? The improved autofocus not only makes Fuji XT3 a game changer in low or rough lighting conditions, but it makes it even faster than its older Fuji XT2 sibling. My personal favorite is the improved auto-focus, particularly in low light, which is a godsend for shooting at night, during the evening or even in rough indoor lighting conditions. Being a mirrorless camera, it already has some great advantages over DSLR and your standard compact travel cameras with an electronic viewfinder increased video quality and overall easy travel size.Īs Fujifilm moved from the X-T200 series to its most recent iteration, they outfitted Fuji XT3 with a smattering of improved features. ![]() ![]() What’s New?įujifilm has been on my proverbial radar when it comes to photography and videography both, and I’m always excited to see what they’ll come up with next. We’re about to talk shop and get nerdy all up in this web space. Strap in, ladies, gents and all those in between. Whether you’re trying to catch a glimpse of the ghost cat known as the Snow Leopard (Secret Life of Walter Mitty, anyone?), capturing the hustle and bustle of a busy Morrocan marketplace or watching art come to life on the hallowed stages of Shakespeare’s Globe in London, you don’t want to miss a thing. People consider the Fujifilm XT3 to be the best travel video camera today. Getting caught up in the moment and capturing it on film is one of the most gratifying, legally addictive things I can think of. One of my personal favorite things about travel is creating a travel video. ![]()
